Japanese Proper Nouns

Proper nouns play a major role in NLP applications, especially machine translation (MT) and named entity extraction (NER). CJKI’s databases of Japanese proper nouns are extremely comprehensive. They cover over eight million Japanese and non-Japanese personal names and place names, their millions of romanized variants, Japanese POI’s (points of interest such as hotels and airports), company and organization names, and more.
